Planning in advance

September 15th, 2009 admin Leave a comment Go to comments

I’ve been quite surprised that no one I’ve seen about my knee so far has asked any questions about my personal circumstances. After all I live in a 3 bed-semi with one loo and that’s upstairs. How will I cope afterwards for the first week or so? What will or won’t I be able to do?

Luckily I have common sense so I’m getting some bits and pieces ready for when I come out of hospital.

I’ve decided that I’ll move into our spare bedroom so if I’m restless I won’t disturb my husband who will still have to get up for work in the morning.

I’m looking on eBay for an adjustable pillow prop thingamajig so I don’t have to have 6 pillows behind me when I sit up in bed. They vary wildly in price and I may yet get one from one of Amazon’s online marketplace sellers instead as their prices seem a little cheaper. I think it will be a useful thing to have anyway as I often like to sit up in bed to use my laptop.

I think I’ll need grab rails by the loo and probably a raised toilet seat as well as I honestly can’t see myself getting on or off the toilet as it is without one.
