Hi Everyone, I’m due to have my left knee replaced on October 2nd 2009.

I have tried to find some first hand information on what I can expect from the whole process but without any luck.
So I’ve decided to share my experience here for anyone else who is going to have a TKR (total knee replacement) in the future and hope it may answer some of your queries.

My knee is so bad went yesterday for a second opion and he said need to get this
done. It got worse. The problem that Iam wrestling with at the moment is fear.
Scared to death. I dont know if I could take the pain or the operation.
Your email is wonderful thank you.
What I want to ask you though is this: How were you the second day?
I know they will give me pain blocker in my leg for the first 24hrs
what happens after that. Will I be screaming with this pain? Please tell me
the truth.
Thank you for your honesty and help
Hi Lorrie,
The pain straight after the op is quite bad. The second day more bearable. But just think how much you suffer with the pain you get from it every day. The post-operative pain is no worse and you KNOW that will get better.
I don’t regret having mine done for one minute.
Go for it girl!!
